About Kristine Trever

Kristine Trever Portfolio

You’ve find me.

And my site - providing a sample of my academic and creative, written and visual work.

Filmmaker, video artist, television and cinema enthusiast, writer, editor, producer - and instructor of all these things - I completed my BA in Film Studies (2000) and MA in Media Arts (2005), both from Wayne State University; worked as a Commercial Producer at the NBC affiliate, WDIV-TV4 for 3 years; organized and chaired the Wayne State MovingMedia film festival for 2 years; Co-Chaired the Dally in the Alley 2003/04; mastered the arts of bartending, waiting tables and professional courtesy all 15 years of college.  Experiences that shape me - personally, professionally and creatively, on location or off.

In 2005, I started teaching film and video production and haven’t stopped - and while I am good, perhaps humbly great at many things cinematic or otherwise, being a professor of film and video is, I profess, my favorite profession.

I am finishing my PhD in the interdisciplinary Media, Art and Text program from Virginia Commonwealth University.  I live in Pittsburgh, PA with my big dreams and big dog.

For more information, please feel free to email me, read my seldomly updated blog, or check out my often updated vita.

Smile.  Someone loves you!

P.S. Go ahead and ask!  But the answer is this: My favorite film is Sunset Boulevard, with The Sound of Music and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World close behind. (Subject to change)
